Model A update...

With the shop opened back up, I am trying to make some headway on the Model A truck before the next customer's project comes in.  The main thing I want to accomplish is to get the top chopped and it all welded back together.

Model A's are relativity easy to chop.  Just pick the straightest and flattest section and start cutting...

after about a 1/2 hour of cutting...

...tacked all back together.

It certainly pays to take your time and make sure the cuts are parallel and fit together nicely.

The doors had some patch panels tacked in by the previous owner.  Where I decide to cut was at the end of the patch so that I had one less edge to weld.

Still a lot of welding left but at least it looks like something.

The rear panel was in pretty poor shape.  The best thing to do was cut it all out....

...and make a new panel.

Definitely need to take your time.  The original metal can warp so easily.

Dodge 218 Supercharger Mount...

Here are some progress pictures....

Model A to S-10 T5 with Torque Tube Adapter...

Well, finally after months of work, The 4x4 S-10 T5 is bolted to the Model A rear end.

It actually went together fairly easily without any surprises.  The plan is to eventually offer an adapter that uses the newer '32-'48 4 bolt pattern clam shell instead of the Model A's 6 bolt pattern.

Gordon Smith Compressors....

Well, here is my latest trading deal...It's a genuine factory built Gordon Smith Compressor.  As you can see, it uses original '28/'29 model parts combined with Gordon Smith parts to build a pull behind air compressor.

Unfortunately, the engine was stuck, but it's been sitting with penetrating fluid in the cylinders for a while.  I did recently managed to get it to move a little though.

The guy that I got it from was one hell of an interesting fellow.  Not to mention, he had some really neat stuff lying around...

I have no idea what I am going to do with it but it was too unique to pass up....

Pulleys...

While I am waiting for parts on my other projects, it's time to machine so pulleys for the Dodge 218 supercharge mount...

I find it amazingly satisfying to go from a concept, to a plastic 3D printed part to an actual usable part in a couple of days....
