2-3/4 axis machining....

Recently, I had a local company approach me about machining a couple of "cast" housings for one of their trade show displays.  Apparently, the actual legit production castings were being delayed so they were forced to start from solid.  It's been a relatively fun project and I have definitely learned a thing or two about the Fadal and my manual lathe...






Once done, I have to polish out the machining marks and then sand blast it to give the illusion of a cast piece.


After doing a relatively labor intensive machining project like this one, I think that we need to invest in a CNC lathe and a 4th axis for the mill...
