Finned 235 valve cover....

With the advent of purchasing a new furnace, I have had a recent resurgence in interest in all things related to casting.  So, I've dusted off the valve cover mold for 235 and have been getting it ready to cast.  Here are some progress pics...

I still have to make the core mold, but that doesn't need to be as smooth or nice as the main mold.  It's definetley come a long way from where it sarted...

Goodguys Columbus....

...was HOT!  The temp was near 100 degrees all weekend.  Overall, it was a good show even though the number of cars was lower than previous years.  Regardless, we had a good time nd met a bunch of nice people.

The highlight, at least for me, was to finally see these two cars in person.  The craftsmanship absolutely outstanding. Everywhere you looked there was an exquisite amount of detail.  Dan Webb from Webb Automotive Art has got some serious talent and vision.  His work truly follows his company's namesake...it is automotive art.

Goodguys Columbus...

We are heading down to The PPG Nationals in Columbus for the weekend.  Things are going to be slow here for a few days.  I'll be back at it Monday morning.

Legitimate...

It's essential to have good friends...but it's even better to have have good friends that go to auctions.  This complete foundry setup showed up at my house over the weekend.  A family friend got it at an estate sale for a really great price and thought I needed it.  Well...he was right!

Everything is there, even the crucible half full of aluminum.  Unfortunately, it originally ran on natural gas.  Since I do not have natural gas service, it will have to be converted to propane.
